I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
